Vos Fortis GmbH is the controller within the meaning of Art. 4 (7) GDPR for the processing described here. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to. Write to the address above with any question about your data — a person reads it.

What this site does not do

There is no advertising network, no profiling, no cross-site tracking, and no data broker on this site. Nothing is loaded from a third party: the fonts, images and code all come from our own server, so opening this page does not tell anyone but us that you did. There is no content delivery network, no embedded map, no video player, no social media plugin, and no external comment system.

We do count visits — see “Visitor statistics” below — but that count also runs on our own server, and only after you have said yes to it.

This is not an oversight we intend to fix later. It follows from how Plerid itself is built — the relay never sees the content of your messages, and your list of agents never reaches our servers — and the website is held to the same standard.

Server log files

Our server records every request, as every web server does. Each entry contains:

• The requesting IP addressTechnically necessary to send the page back to you.
• Date and time of the requestWithout it a log cannot be read at all.
• The requested path and the HTTP status returnedHow we notice that something is broken.
• Browser and operating system as your browser reports themSent by your browser with every request; we do not ask for it.
• The referring page, if your browser sends oneYour browser decides whether to send this, not us.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is delivering the page reliably and defending the server against abuse. These logs are not combined with any other data, not used to build a profile, and not analysed for statistics.

Retention: log entries are deleted after 7 days, unless a specific entry is needed longer to investigate an attack or a fault — in which case the relevant entries are kept until that is resolved.

Your email address

If you enter your email address in the form on the home page, we store that address, and nothing else — no name, no company, no behaviour. We use it for one purpose: to send you a short note when something in Plerid actually ships. We do not send advertising, we do not sell or share the address, and we do not pass it to any third party.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR — your consent, given by submitting the form.

Withdrawing it: write one line to info@plerid.com and we delete the address. No form, no login, no reason required. Every note we send will also carry a way to unsubscribe. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.

Retention: until you withdraw, or until the list is discontinued.

Writing to us directly

If you email us, we process your address, your message and anything else you put in it, in order to answer. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your message concerns a contract or a step before one, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us. We keep the correspondence as long as it is needed for the matter, and longer only where the law requires it.

Cookies and local storage

This site currently sets no cookies at all. What it does store, once you make a choice in the consent banner, is a single entry in your browser’s local storage recording that choice — so we do not ask again on every page. It stays on your device; it is never sent to our server.

Legal basis: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG — storing your consent decision is strictly necessary to respect it. Everything you can switch on in the banner is stored only with your consent under § 25 (1) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

The banner lists one optional category, Analytics. It is off by default. Switching it on loads our visitor count, described in the next section; leaving it off means the script is never placed in the page at all. It is not loaded and held back — it is not loaded.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time: open the consent settings. Clearing your browser’s site data for plerid.com has the same effect.

Visitor statistics

If — and only if — you switch on Analytics in the consent banner, this site counts page views using Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we run on our own server in Germany. Nothing is sent to Google, to Umami’s makers, or to anyone else.

Per page view it records:

• The page you opened and the page that referred youTo see which pages people actually read.
• Browser, operating system, device type and screen sizeTo know which screens the site has to work on.
• Your language settingYour browser sends it with every request anyway.
• An approximate location: country, region and cityLooked up from your IP address at the moment you open the page, against a database that ships with the software. It is an estimate, often only accurate to the nearest large city, and it is frequently wrong for mobile connections and VPNs. Your IP address itself is not written down — only the result of the lookup.
• A visitor number that changes every dayCalculated from your IP address and browser with a secret that rotates daily, so that two page views in one visit can be recognised as one visit. It cannot be turned back into your IP address, and it does not connect today’s visit to tomorrow’s.

Your IP address itself is never written down — there is no column for it in the database — and no cookie and no entry in your browser’s storage is created. There is no profile, no cross-site tracking, and nothing that could be traced back to you as a person.

If your browser sends the Do Not Track signal, nothing is counted — even if you said yes in the banner.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG — your consent. Withdrawing it: open the consent settings and switch Analytics off; the script is removed immediately and nothing further is counted.

Where the data is

The site runs on our own server, located in Germany. We do not use a hosting platform, a cloud provider or any other processor for it, so there is no processor to name here and no transfer of your data to a country outside the EU.

Is any of this required?

No. You are not obliged to provide any data. The site is fully readable without entering anything. The only consequence of not giving us your email address is that we cannot write to you when something ships.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

You can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence, place of work or of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for us is:

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when what the site does changes — for example if we ever add an analytics tool, or move the server. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading.
